Sandra Laveaux, MD is an Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Chicago Medicine and Section Chief of Complex Gynecology and Surgery.
She completed fellowship training in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery at Columbia University/NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.
Dr. Laveaux is the Founding Director of the Center for Advanced Treatment and Research (CATeR) of Uterine Fibroids. She specializes in minimally invasive and robotic surgery and treats complex cases of endometriosis, uterine fibroids, and pelvic masses.
She is a funded and widely published clinical researcher whose work focuses on developing precision and preventive approaches to uterine fibroids using advanced imaging and artificial intelligence. Her global health efforts focus on community education and awareness of uterine fibroids in sub-Saharan Africa.
